The project aimed at developing instruments and tools for enterprises to ensure that they have enough skilled workers. Besides personnel development programmes, which include career planning and training, the project aimed at supporting enterprises in transferring knowledge and experience. With the aid of these instruments and tools it will be possible for enterprises to identify potential skills shortages in time and to take action to avoid future problems. The VQTS model (Competence Matrix “Mechatronics”) is the basis of the software for the tracing of competence lacks in companies and to plan ahead and overcome the identified lacks.
