On this website, you will find information and latest news about: The ECVET technical specifications based on the Recommendation of the European Parliament and the Council; the ECVET testing and development process; the ten ECVET pilot projects that have been selected in 2008 as part of the Lifelong Learning programme of the European Commission (DG Education and Culture); other projects and initiatives whose activities are related to ECVET.

    The European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET)

    The EU Member States and the Commission are developing a system to facilitate the recognition of knowledge, skills and competences gained by individuals through periods of vocational education and training abroad. The European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) will give people greater control over their individual learning experiences and make it easier to move between different countries and different learning environments.

    ECVET support team

    The objective of the ECVET support team towards the European Commission is to assist the ECVET European network allowing the European Commission to fulfil its obligations by supporting and aiding Member States in achieving objectives set by the Recommendation of the European Parliament and Council for implementing the ECVET system. The support team’s work began in January 2010 and will last for a 3-year period.

    The European Commission has integrated its various educational and training initiatives under a single umbrella, the Lifelong Learning Programme. It consists of four sub-programmes: Comenius (for schools), Erasmus (for higher education), Leonardo da Vinci (for vocational education and training) and Grundtvig (for adult education).

    EVE

    EVE (Espace virtuel d'échange) is the electronic platform for the dissemination and exploitation of results of projects and results of programmes implemented by the Directorate General for Education and Culture. EVE is a new tool available - from 2009 - for project beneficiaries of the "Lifelong learning", "Culture", "Youth in Action" and "Citizenship" programmes, to have visibility on the European Union website. EVE will acquire much information as the projects develop and the results are introduced by the project coordinators.

    European Vocational Training Association (EVTA)

    The EVTA network comprises of organizations of 16 different European countries, all acting in vocational training. EVTA supports its members in their answers to the challenges of growth, competitiveness and social cohesion in the field of Life-Long Learning. EVTA is finding ways of enabling vocational training professionals to learn from each other and to apply new creative and innovative tools to new and existing problems in the field of lifelong learning and vocational training in particular. EVTA sees it as one of the priorities and responsibilities to share and valorize professional knowledge and experience in this field.

    European Research Network in Vocational Education and Training - VETNET

    The new social networking site for VETNET is expected to help promote communication and debate between new and old VETNET members and colleagues. The site will provide details of VETNET conference events but in addition, will enable VETNET members to collaborate between conferences and events and develop new projects and research at a European level.
  • EU-Move (Quality in professional training abroad)

    EU-Move (Quality in professional training abroad)

    The project will deliver a EU mobility portal for VET with a database of workplacements for the hospitality and trade sector, including tools and competences for intercultural awareness and vocationally oriented language learning and tools for the mentor in the workplacement company to organise the workplacements, to guide the trainee and to evaluate the workplacement. The mobility portal is supported by the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework.
